State Bank of Patiala invites applications from sports persons (Table Tennis players) preferably who are National level players and are representing their respective states.
1. Clerical Cadre
Age Limit: Between 18 to 28 years as on 30.11.2010
Educational Qualifications:
Should have passed 10+2 Examination or its equivalent
Sports Qualification:
Should have represented the State in National Event
Or
The District in the State level with distinction
Or
His University in Inter State University event with distinction
Or
If he was a member of combined Universities team with distinction

Emoluments:
As applicable to Award Staff under various Rules/Awards/Settlements in force in Banks concerned from time to time.

Mode of selection:
Applications will be subjected to preliminary scrutiny to shortlist candidates on the basis of their performance, achievements as given in their applications/testimonials. Preference will be given to the candidates who are National Players and are currently representing their respective State. The candidates short listed will be called for the interview and selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit. Since the recruitment is for sportsmen category, maximum weightage will be given to the above factors as well as to the age of the candidate. Short listed candidates will be issued call letters at the correspondence address given by the candidate in their application form which will be sent by ordinary post/courier.

b) All these appointees will be on probation for a period of 6 months as applicable for general candidates.
c) At the time of appointment, the candidate must be an active sportsman and should be fit enough to take part in future tournaments as well.
d) All the candidates selected may be posted as per requirement any where in India.
e) Only Indian citizens are eligible for appointment under this scheme.
f) The Bank take no responsibility for any delay in receipt or loss in postal transit of any application or communication. It also takes no responsibility to connect any certificate separately. The candidates are advised NOT to send original certificates/marks sheets along with their application.
g) An application incomplete in any respect and/or not in conformity with this advertisement shall not be entertained.
h) Selected candidates will be governed by the terms & conditions of the Service Regulations of the Bank as applicable to Award Staff Cadre.
i) Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their being found medically fit as per the requirement of the Bank. Such appointment will also be subject to the service and conduct rules of the Bank. Candidates found possess the qualifications as stated above may be called for and interview and selection will be made strictly on the merit.
