National Tuberculosis Institute Hires Bacteriologist Posts in 2010, Bangalore
Filling up of the Post of Bacteriologist at NTI, Bangalore by Transfer or Deputation basis   
Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for appointment to the post of Bacteriologist in the National Tuberculosis Institute, Bangalore.  The post is a General Central Services Grade A Gazetted Non-Ministerial in the pay scale of Rs.10000-15200 (pre-revised) Revised pay band PB – 3 Rs.15600-39100 + Rs.6600 Grade Pay 2 .The vacancy is to be filled by transfer on deputation basis as per the following criteria.
Bacteriologist
Pay Scale: Rs.10000-15200 (pre-revised) Revised pay band PB – 3 Rs.15600-39100 + Rs.6600 Grade Pay 2
Educational & other qualification required for Direct Recruitment:
A. For Medical Persons: – Essential Qualification:
i) A recognized Medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (Other than licentiate qualification) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.  Holders of educational Qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
ii) Post Graduate Qualification in Bacteriology or Microbiology, viz. M.D (Path and Bact.), M.Sc. (Path and Bact.), PhD (Path and Bact.), D.Sc. (Path and Bact.), DCP, DPB, D (Bact), MD (Microbiology), M.Sc (Bacteriological), PhD (Microbiology) and MSc (Microbiology) or equivalent.
iii) 5 years experience of Bacteriological work in a Tuberculosis Research / Chest Institution. (Qualifications relax able at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise well-qualified; in particulars, the qualification regarding experience is relaxable in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe for posts reserved for them)
Desirable:
• Experience in teaching and / or research
B. For Non-medical persons.
Educational & other Qualification:
Essential:
i)  Masters degree in Bacteriology or Microbiology from a recognized University or equivalent.
ii) 7 years experience of Bacteriological work preferably in Tuberculosis Bacteriology in a Tuberculosis Research / Chest Institution.
Desirable:
• Doctorate degree in the subject concerned.
• Experience in teaching and / or research.
For Transfer / deputation:
1. Eligibility:
Transfer on deputation: Officers under Central / state Government holding analogous posts or with 5 years regular service in posts in the pay scale of Rs.8000 – 13500 (pre-revised in 5th CPCP) or 8 years services in the pay scale of pee-revised scale Rs.6500 – 10500 (as per 5th CPC) or equivalent respectively and possessing the educational qualifications and experience prescribed for direct recruits as mentioned above.    The departmental scientific Officer (Junior Bacteriologist) with 8 years regular service in the grade will also be considered and in case he is selected for appointment to the post, it will be treated as having been filled by promotions.
2. The period of deputation shall ordinarily not exceed 3 years.
3. The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall be not exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of application.
4. The pay and allowances and other terms of the officer who is selected will be regulated in accordance with Department of Personnel and Training’s OM No. 2-29/91 – Estt. (Pay-II) dated 5/1/1994 as amended from time to time.
5. The applications of suitable officers who are willing and eligible for the post and who can be spared immediately in the vent of selection may be forwarded through proper channel in the prescribed proforma (duplicate) duly verified, along with ACR dossiers for the last 5 years, Integrity Certificate, Vigilance Clearance and statement giving details of major or minor penalties imposed on the officer, if any, etc..
6. The candidates once selected for the post, will not be allowed to withdraw their candidature under any circumstances.

Application complete in all respect as per the PROFORMA may be sent to the Section Officer (TB), Central TB Division, room No.523-C, Directorate General of Health Services, Nirman Bhavan, New Delhi – 110 011 within a period of 45 days from the date of issue of the circular in ‘Employment News’.In complete application or application received after prescribed date shall not be entertained.
