Applications are invited from eligible candidates by NCERT for a walk-in-interview for the following project vacancies under 8th All India Educational Survey being conducted by the Department of Educational Surveys and Data Processing
1. Survey Associate : 03 Posts
Emoluments: Rs. 15,000/-
Qualification : Second Class Masters Degree in Statistics / Mathematics / Economics with training in computer programming of at least one year duration
Date of Walk-in : 11 July 2011
2. Computer System Analyst : 02 Posts
Emoluments: Rs. 15,000/-
Qualification : Second Class Master Degree in computer applications / M.Sc. Computers/ PG Diploma in computer Science with one year experience in the area
Date of Walk-in : 12 July 2011
3. Steno/Computer Operator : 02 Posts
Emoluments: Rs. 7500/-
Qualification : Graduate with Proficiency in Stenography and Word Processing and data Base Management System

About the organization:
The Department of Computer Education and Technological Aids(DCETA) has been leading the movement for ICT infusion in the school system, advising appropriate and viable choices of technology, developing models for technology applications in teaching learning, capacity building in the system, develop curricula and learning materials has been the major foci of this department. The department has also been catalyzing ICT applications within the NCERT, managing the infrastructure, developing and maintaining the websites, providing technological support to initiatives across departments, and customized on demand capacity building. Over the years, the Department has been able to establish its presence in the field of ICT in School Education. The activities include Participation and leadership in various Committees set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development of the Government of India and different state counterparts in ICT initiatives Development of web interfaces for the wider dissemination of learning materials. This includes hosting the textbooks developed at NCERT on http://www.ncert.nic.in Capacity building activities for teachers and teacher educators across the country, particularly the DIET Development of curricula and syllabus outlines for ICT across all stages of school education. It is in the process of developing a course and textbooks for the plus two students, particularly from the humanities and commerce streams Development of model multimedia learning materials. A variety of interfaces and technology have been explored, deployment of such materials on the web, use of other language interfaces, accessibility are some of the future directions for exploration The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) was established in 1961 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India to prepare quality teachers in Science, Humanities, Commerce, Agriculture and Technology. Consequently, four Regional Colleges of Education at Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar and Mysore were established as constituents units of NCERT. Regional College of Education, Ajmer was set up in the year 1963. Later it was renamed as Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Ajmer in the year 1995. It looks after the educational interests of Northern Region comprising the states of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh, the National Capital Territory of Delhi and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
Ajmer is well-known all over India as a historical and religious place of pilgrimage as well as an educational centre. It owes this reputation partly to the Regional Institute of Education (RIE). The Institute is situated six km. away from the Ajmer Railway Station in midst of idyllic surroundings with the historic Anasagar Lake in front and the Aravali hills all around. It is almost equidistant from the world famous Dargah of Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti beyond the lake and the holy place of Hindu pilgrimage, Pushkar, at the back.This Institute, with its spacious buildings, playgrounds, gardens, lawnsand farm is spread over 110 acres. It is affiliated to the M.D.S. University,Ajmer and its courses are recognised by the NCTE, New Delhi. It is controlled and managed by the NCERT. The management committee, chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of the affiliating university performs the advisory role on matters of academic interest.
